Last Order: Final Fantasy VII is an addition to the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children film and part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. It is an OVA (Original Video Animation) that was released with the "Ultimate Edition" of the movie (Advent Pieces: Limited). It is an anime rendition of two flashbacks that took place in the game. One details events from five years before the game took place, revolving around the Nibelheim scenario that focused on Zack, Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart and Sephiroth. The other involves Zack and Cloud on the run from Shin-Ra. The anime cuts back and forth between these two flashbacks, linked by the Turk commander Tseng's reflection on the nibelheim events. Last Order also forms the basis of the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII PSP game, and serves as a tie-in with the mobile phone game Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, as several of the game's playable Turk characters appear as minor characters, with some even geting spoken lines.

One year before Final Fantasy VII begins, former SOLDIER 1st Class, Zack, is able to break free of his confinement within Nibelheim's Shinra Mansion. Having journeyed here four years earlier at the order of the Shin-Ra Company, Zack accompanied Sephiroth, Shin-Ra's elite SOLDIER, in the investigation of a malfunctioning mako reactor. During that mission, he bore witness to Sephiroth's descent into madness and the merciless slaughter of the village at Sephiroth's hands.

Though he survived that massacre, he and his friend, Cloud StrifeFinal Fantasy VII's main protagonist and a native of Nibelheim himself—were taken captive when Shin-Ra officials arrived to round up the few survivors and cover up the tragedy to prevent their name from being sullied. Professor Hojo, the Head of Shin-Ra's Scientific Research Division, decided to use Zack, Cloud and the other apprehended survivors in an experiment to test his Jenova Reunion Theory, but after four years of stolen freedom, Zack has escaped from Hojo's lab and taken Cloud with him.

They quickly slip away from Nibelheim, with the intent being to return to Midgar, the heart of Shin-Ra's empire and home of Zack's girlfriend, Aerith Gainsborough. However, Shin-Ra orders their elite espionage and assassination division, the Turks, as well as regular military units to find, and, if necessary, eliminate the two escapees. Yet Tseng, the leader of the Turks, is hesitant to take Zack and Cloud's freedom from them a second time. Conscience-leaden and wracked with conflicting emotions, he orders his subordinates to capture them alive if at all possible.

With Zack and Cloud approaching the end of their year-long trek back to Midgar and the pursuit of the two escapees building to its head, Tseng reflects back on the events that have led to this situation before departing with his subordinates to intercept Cloud and Zack along the last leg of their journey. It is here, on a bluff within sight of Midgar, that fate will take a tragic, unexpected turn, and the events of Final Fantasy VII will begin.

Damn. It's September 10 and I don't have classes or exams yet I'm still going to go down on the 13th. Unfortunately, I have two papers to pass by that date; one for Hist 110, the other for BALL 103. Anyway, I sembreak's up to November 15 naman. Even though I want to go down, there's part of me that's wanting to stay. No, not all of my friends aren't here. Most of them went down already. Maybe, I want to stay because of her.

That her isn't my girlfriend. Nor am I courting her yet. Johanna - that's her name - is a special friend who has helped me in many ways. We've been very good friends during the start of the semester, but now, we seem so... distant.   During our happy days, I began to like her. I felt scared if she found out so I avoided her. After I realized that what I'm doing is not really good, I tried to get close to her again. But then, the distance widened. And now that she found out that I like her (because of a letter I've given her), it seems as if I just ruined our friendship. It's really hard because our friendship isn't growing anymore. I want to talk to her but I feel so scared of approaching her already. How am I going to do this?

Recently, I found out that my friend - a co- choirmate, co- Student Council member, and co- SC Committee-mate - is courting Johanna. He said so himself. He even said that it was no hard feeling. I understood. After all, anyone could court her. Even I. But I'm not doing anything. I wanted to talk to her but I couldn't find the right time to approach her during the past week. Almost every time I see her, she's with him. What's my chance of winning her heart? That's if, it's what I wan't to do.

I believe that my friend Johanna is falling for the guy. If I don't do anything, I might lose her... completely. What's pressuring me is that there are a lot of things that gives the guy an advantage. He's a real heartthrob. He's got a wonderful voice that has the quality of a Pinoy Pop SuperStar. True. During our audition for Pinoy Pop, he's the only UPian (out of 7 - me included) who made it to Baguio's final 11. Note that there are almost 500 people that auditioned. Anytime now, he could be called to GMA7. Now that's talent! He's also the vocalist of one of the famous bands in Baguio. Just like me, he topped for year level representative during the Student Council elections (he's from a higher batch). He's the VolCorps head, the Committee which i'm in. Of course, I have my own abilities. Still, it's like... I'm a weaker version of him. How could I compete?

I have to do something.

I won't let this slip.

Not now.
